We had a week in Sorrento and used the local bus service to visit Amalfi, and the views were tremendous. Using the local train service we managed to visit Herculanium which was well worth the walk from the station to the site. So easy to walk around Sorrento to see the various places of interest and the narrow alley ways with their shops. Such an easy place to do things independently without the need for expensive tours.
