My wife treated me to a 2 night break at the Slieve Donard hotel in Newcastle, Co. Down for my birthday. It is a lovely hotel in a fantastic setting with the sea on one side and the Mountains of Mourne on the other. There is a spa and swimming pool at the hotel. Staff were friendly, the room spacious and clean and food great. We went to dinner at the Percy French restaurant just a short walk away and food was excellent if a bit expensive. After dinner we walked along the prom which has recently been tidied up. All in all a nice way to spend my birthday.
