My husband and I went to Hiller Gardens Romney Southampton last Sunday what a delight it was such and interesting place when you enter the first thing that greets you are the lovely staff I was on my disable buggy they explained to my husband where the best paths were suitable for the buggy to go ( before I go any further I am on my buggy which has been lent to me as I have just had a Kidney Transplant so unable at the moment to walk very far I usually only walk with a stick ) .After studying the map we set off the first thing you see is a giant fur cone made of willow weaved by clever people in fact the whole gardens have so meny qsculptures some hidden in flower beds some out in the open on the neatly cut lawns .The lovely gardens have a large pond with hungry small fish who swim up hoping you have something for them to eat but sadly we had nothing with us but it was just lovely to sit and watch them swimming around .Although the gardens were busy With adults and children qit was very peaceful . The gardens are packed with so many different flowers trees hedges and interesting nooks and crannies we stopped and had a cup of coffee in the tearoom which is half way round we then walked on and after about half an hour we stopped again and had a sandwich and a drink at the main restaurant close to the entrance I would highly recommend a visit we will differently go back there is a shop there selling lots of thing plus some plants there is a court yard with lots of seating the day we went they had a sausage feast going on which my husband tried instead of a sandwich he said it was delicious a great day out also you can take a picnic to cut down the cost if you have children .and there are lots to keep children amused going around the gardens things to put there hands in to feel what’s in the boxes there are puzzles to solve plus a fairy trail and a giant music instrument in the fairy grotto which when played echo around the gardens their were several children having great fun dancing to the boy playing a haunting tune it was really lovely.
