My husband and I caught the train to Sintra from Lisbon. The trains ran about every 30 minutes and were really cheap. The town of Sintra is beautiful, with lovely coloured buildings and restaurants and outdoor cafes. There is a Moorish castle above the town. You can get there by the local bus but we decided to walk up the path through the woods. It was a beautiful walk but not for the faint hearted nor those with dodgy hearts! It was very steep but well signed. The view from the top made it worthwhile and the glass of Vino Verhde at the bottom was well earned.
