Singapore is not just a stop over. It is a Country of such diversity. The people are so friendly and the Country so clean (no chewing gum allowed into the Country). Transport is second to none., Taxis so cheap and clean, the MIT and buses air conditioned and very cheap also run to time. They have reserved seats on the trains for elderly and disabled and people will vacant these for the elderly.
The Chinese Quarter is hustling and bustling and the street food delicious – freshly cooked and so cheap. Here you will find the Buddhist Temple which has the wow factor, when I went the monks were chanting it was surreal. Also just a few steps away the Hindu temple again well worth a visit.
I was amazed at how big their shopping malls were and they appeared to build 3 together!. Not everything is cheap here as they import everything but eating out is so cheap – that is why everyone eats out – not just tourists.
I stayed for 2 weeks and did not see everything I wanted to see so going back next year.
One very important piece of information is that the Country is so safe. The crime rate is negligible and as a woman travelling alone this was a very important factor.
