Relaxation

Sidmouth Harbour Hotel is a Victorian seaside hotel situated on the East Devon coast with panoramic views of natural beauty along the Jurassic coastline.

Having recently got married at the age of ’70’ we spent a couple of nights here in room 22 which had a good view of the sea. Nicely decorated, in a New England style, the room was well equipped, warm and relaxing, but not a lot of space.
Dressing gowns and slippers were provided and complimentary sherry and gin was available in the room. As well as tea facilities there was a coffee machine, TV, Wifi and hairdryer.
Our first evening meal was very good – a shared starter consisting of a fish platter followed by some really tender ox cheek. However, the steak I ordered the following night was rather grisly!

The stylish Upper Deck Bar and restaurant, with floor to ceiling glass, enables you to have coastal views which is especially nice in the mornings at breakfast. There is access onto an extensive new terrace for alfresco dining which I expect is great at a warmer time of the year! The new heated outdoor pool has sun loungers and poolside service, where, on nice days you can relax and gaze out across the sea.

Afternoon cream teas are £8.50 per person – or you can have a Champagne Afternoon Tea for £23.50 per person.

A Spar salon is available for treatments. There are various treatments available, including a ‘ Hopi Ear Candling’ with facial and scalp draining massage, lasting 40 minutes and costing £52.50

All in all a pleasant stay with a good view.
