Sidmouth hold an annual festival at the end July/beg August for the whole family.
Wonderful fun and atmosphere.
Countless free displays and entertainment. Innumerable excellent workshops in dancing, playing, story telling, singing, craft and more. Very reasonably priced. Workshops for all ages from toddlers to Grandparents.
Free ceilidhs every day and many dances with excellent callers and bands.
Parades through the down of the dancers culminating in displays in the gardens where families tend to congregate to picnic and watch the entertainment. This is where the family craft tents are. This year there was an inspiring programme for teenagers as well.
Busking in all the pubs and hotels.
Check the link for inspiration.on the last evening there’s a spectacular torchlit parade along the seafront ending in a free firework display.
If you enjoy folk music in a very friendly safe atmosphere, I’m sure you’ll love it, as I do.
