My wife & I have visited Shrigley Hall 5times now and still thoroughly enjoy the experience. Staff now recognise us on arrival, we are known at the Spa & fitness centre, and after first night the bar staff always remember our drinks. The building is a former monastery run by Salesian monks, & there is a small cemetary at the rear of the hotel where former pupils & staff are buried. It is looked after by a local group of historians. Therenis a championship 7000+ yards golf course in the grounds with deer, ducks & the occasional wild birds of prey seen if you are quick with the camera. You are free to walk around the golf course bearing in mind golfers are in action around you! Spa centre offer various massage & beauty treatments and if you join the Puma Hotels Leisure Club (£20 one off payment) you get 20% off treatments as well as other discounts in the hotel. Rooms brilliant, comfortable, free wi-fi, many Premier roo ms have jacuzzi baths, plus bathrobes and slippers. Restaurant food great, bar meals very good and the golf club restaurant prices are excellent. Bar in the hotel now has very good selection of whiskeys, I cannot claim responsibility for increasing their range ut evdry time we visitednI always criticised fact that they only used to have the odd blended whisky and the odd malt. It pays to tell staff your views. Local villages have good range of pubs and cafes if you fancy a change, not much going on in Macclesfield but plenty of shopping in nearby Trafford Centre, approx 35 mins drive away. All in all worthnat least a weekend to try the experience, if you do I bet you will return!
