The trip we undertook was billed as the extreme RIB ride & in the safety briefing, prior to departure, it was explained that they would be looking for rough water etc. to get us thrown about as part of the thrill. The boat is a solid hull with a rubber tube surround, with 12 seats a bit like saddles with backs except the bench seat at the back. The idea was that, at rough moments, you could raise yourself off the seat, stand & use your thighs to take the impact. Sophisticated life jackets we're provided & your could hire full wet thermal gear for £5 if required. Once out of the harbour's 6 mph speed limit & onto the Solent the two massive engines pushed the boat through the water at a thrilling rate. Playing James Bond music raised a few smiles. The driver then looked to speed across the wake of other boats to twist & launch our boat into the air. Very exhilarating. Photos were taken before, during & after that could be downloaded for free from their website (nice to not be ripped off for photos for a change). Whole experience took 90 mins, with about 60 of that being the ride itself. Some of the movement is quite violent so think carefully if this is the ride for you, particularly if you are physically able to take & enjoy the stresses of the ride. If you can I thoroughly recommend it.
