We spent a couple of days in Scarborough between Christmas and New Year with our sons and their partners and had a wonderful time. There was more than enough to keep us all amused. We visited Scarborough Castle, a ruined castle on the headland with terrific views of the beaches and town. We spotted a seal in the sea. We walked around the cute harbour eating fresh seafood snacks, pretended we were all children and played roll a penny (or rather roll a two penny!), walked both beaches, admired St Mary’s Church where Anne Bronte is buried. There are lots of coffee and eating places, we had a good meal and charming service at Ask which has a great location by the harbour. We stayed at an excellent Airbnb, Coastguard Cottage, close to the castle.
