This is a resplendant Art Deco hotel both architecturally and the internal furnishing style. We had a lovely room with small blacony overlooking the wide sandy bay with superb views over the dunes and the surfers. The hotel has a large heated indoor pool as well as a big outdoor heated pool. It was windy and raining when we stayed in October so I enjoyed the spa facilities very much. As well as the pool is a thermal room with steam room, and hot tub – with a view that is to die for. A full range of spa treatments with excellent staff were much enjoyed. I believe there is golf nearby but my other half was quite happy relaxing in the comfy lounge with a book while I was being pampered. The evening meal (which was inc.in our price) was excellent with good choices and slick service in a large dining room There is a zig zag path leading down the cliff side to the beach where there is a cafe (part of the hotel) where you can ring the changes with lunch or dinner. We had intended to take trips out to Barnstaple and Clovelly but the weather didnt tempt us out and we just enjoyed the hotel instead – good excuse to return at another time of the year!
