We booked direct with Sandos Monaco. It’s worth signing up to their Sandos4u members club as we got a discount of around 20 euros on our booking for trading in our ‘points’. We got a good deal too, with free cancellation right up to arrival, and payment on arrival.
I booked a ‘wellness’ package. It came in at around £60 more than the normal package, but included 2 massages and 2 trips to the spa area each. It was well worth the extra. We got a bottle of cava in the room too, although on all inclusive that wasn’t so important!
Our room was on the 12th floor with a great view out towards Benidorm island. There are two double beds and a HUGE bathroom. We had a bath with shower over but others in our group had walk in showers, so maybe ask for your preference.
The only complaint was that the room was too hot, heating in winter, air con in summer seems to be the logic! But it was impossible to turn it down or off. We’re Cumbrians and even a Spanish winter is hot for us! Anyway, solution found. There’s a micro switch in the patio door which stops the heating working when the door is open, so just leave the door a little bit open!
The room was cleaned daily, and was spotless.
Food was really good, with good variety. Restaurant staff were friendly and quick with drinks. You could help yourself to beer or soft drinks. Wine was brought to the table, but they were happy to leave a bottle.
All inclusive drinks were good overall, but as with many hotels they must be having staff problems as you did have to queue for drinks. Cocktails were good and cava and wine freely available.
The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were FREEZING. A shame when it’s sold as a spa hotel. The pool area isn’t huge and could be busy on sunny days with the towels on the sun bed crew.
The hotel is only a street or two back from the promenade and really close to the Old Town. 7 euros for 6 tapas and a bottle of wine anyone?
It was 10 minutes walk or 5 euros by taxi to the nightlife streets of Benidorm, so you have the best of both worlds.
