After many years travelling extensively we managed to book a one week stay at St Lucia, hotel Grande and it turned out to be the most wonderful stay with near perfect accommodation. On arrival we were upgraded and taken to our suite of two rooms on the first floor.
The spacious lounge had sofas and a large screen TV, a mini bar of soft drinks and a full sized bar of alcoholic drinks together with a small sink and tea and coffee making facilities. Nuts and biscuits were also available. The lounge led out onto the balcony and the glorious sea views where we could watch the pool activity or the cruise liners passing by.
The bedroom had a king size four poster bed again with huge screen TV. There was a jacuzzi bath and washbasin and an en suite wet room with huge shower and WC.
We were shown to our room by our butler who was on hand for anything. He left us a mobile phone with his number on it and we could call on him for anything, room service or reserving tables at any of the other 6 restaurants on the site or at any of the other 2 Sandals hotels on the island. He was so helpful as were all the other staff members.
The 7 restaurants all served wonderful meals of fresh local produce, our favourite being the Caribbean restaurant where we were serenaded by a superb steel drum soloist.
This hotel had everything we needed. We were blessed with good weather although there were some sudden showers. We did leave the complex to explore the island but there was so much for us to do within the hotel that our week went so fast. I have told my other half to start saving. This is somewhere where I wish to return soon.
