Saltram is a National Trust property that will be well known to those who live in south Devon, the Plymouth area, and in the south west generally. It’s an attractive house to visit at most times of year, but as with many NT properties at Christmas, it has a special seasonal display. Unlike other properties however, this one is based inside the house, not outside, and there is no additional cost for NT members.
The ground floor rooms have been decorated with a total of 53 Christmas trees (a feat in itself!) and adorned with many other decorations to tell the festive story of The Nutcracker. It’s really well done, and can be appreciated by both adults and children alike. I’ll attach pictures that will give you an impression of what’s in store.
It makes an excellent pre-Christmas outing, and popular so booking is essential!
