When visiting Salisbury, do not rush your visit. The beautiful cathedral needs time to appreciate it inside and out. The wonderful old and modern windows, along with the modern font need time to ponder and be amazed. The wonderful clock, Magna Carta and the peregrine falcons nesting in the tour, are further joys to behold. Walk around The Close and get distance views of the cathedral as well as exploring the fantastic buildings of The Close. Visit some of the houses and museums in the close. They are hidden away and many visitors miss them. Have a picnic on the cathedral green and then explore the town of Salisbury and some of its hidden medieval wonders. Walk across the town path towards Harnham and you will be able to see the view of the cathedral as seen in Constable’s painting. Spend the night in Salisbury and then marvel again at the cathedral as you walk again in The Close with the cathedral looking magnificent as it is floodlit for the evening
