Had an overnight in the Royal Mac in December, visiting new granddaughter (and parents). Our bay-windowed bedroom is probably the biggest we’ve had anywhere, with an open outlook towards the sea. Bed was very big, and comfortable. There was a settee in the (large) window bay. Large bathroom. Room was clean and fresh and was due for a full refurb’ in January ’15 so should be even better for any further visit. Breakfast had a fairly limited cold selection, but the cooked breakfast was very good. Staff and service in the hotel and dining area was cheerful and efficient. Limited parking on site, but street parking is available close by. Hotel is located just off the south end of the high street, a few minutes walk from the railway station if arriving by train.
