Reasons for trip

Relaxation

We booked a two night break here thinking that we would get out and about in the lake district, however the weather was not on our side and as we are not hardened all weather walkers booked in at 1pm on Monday afternoon and didn’t go over the front door until we left.

We had a lovely ground floor room, just what we wanted and had the weather been better it would have been lovely sitting outside watching the water below and wildlife, that said we did sit inside and enjoy the view with coffee and biscuits. The room had plenty of space and was spotless enough wardrobe room for our needs and an iron should it be required, but this is a very relaxed place. A very good sized bathroom Era toiletries and good sized and quality robes and towels.

We used the spa area a great deal, it would appear that most people who come here are out walking, visiting and not like us as we had the spa to ourselves which was lovely and enabled us to switch off and totally relax, it may not be the biggest or the best but it was perfect for us clean tidy and wifi free.

The dinner was first class great choice even for this fussy eater on the first night I had the pork my partner lamb on the second night I had monkfish he had the trio of lamb, the menu changed each day but local produce cooked and presented beautifully, the starters and desserts likewise just need to stay away from the scales as ate far too much, breakfast is in the same dinning room and you stick to the same table which is nice a nice selection of freshly cooked hot meals handled with the same care and attention as dinner and a lovely bread basket.

The only thing I would fault is that a little bit of attention to a couple of bits in the bedroom a broken door hinge on a cupboard and a broken toilet roll holder, nothing major and I would guess that they get a better chance at maintenance when its in the low season.

Yes we will be going back maybe not for a few months but that is because we have other commitments for the next few months but came away feeling we had, had a lovely break.
