We stayed at the “Rocks Hotel and Casino”:http://www.anatoliansky.co.uk/north-cyprus-holidays/kyrenia/rocks-hotel/ during our “Twin Centre”:http://www.anatoliansky.co.uk/twincentre-holidays/north-cyprus-twin-centre-holidays/famagusta-and-kyrenia/ trip arranged through “Anatolian Sky”:http://www.anatoliansky.co.uk . Rocks enjoys a great position a gentle ten minute stroll away from the old harbour and on the edge of the town centre. The hotel oozes class from the moment you walk into reception (the Rocks’ Rolls Royce outside sets the scene too). The reception staff also gave us a taste for the way employees of the Rocks engage with their customers. Throughout our stay we found all the staff, welcoming, friendly, attentive and very helpful.

We had a very comfortable, spacious Deluxe Sea View King sized room and everything in the room was of a good quality. There was a small balcony, air con, WiFi, TV, safe, mini bar, chaise lounge and UK style 3 pin sockets. The bathroom was very well stocked with a good selection of toiletries including toothpaste and brushes, razor and shaving cream, bathrobes, hairdryer and non steam mirror.
Just across the road was their private sea front setting, with a pool and bar set in a large decked area. There were plenty of loungers, beds and novel love seat loungers (like two huge slices of cheesecake placed top to tail). Beach towels were provided and steps on the decking led to the sea. This part of the sea was roped off to make it private and safe, plus a floating platform was also provided.

The basement houses a large Health and Beauty area which includes Sauna, Turkish Bath, Gym (all complimentary). For an extra charge massages and hair styling is available. The staff have created a very relaxing ambiance here with subdued lighting and candles lining the corridors. The business centre is also located on this level with a couple of PCs, printer and a good selection of phone chargers.

We stayed on a Half Board basis and enjoyed a buffet style breakfast and dinner. Both were high quality and provided a huge selection of food to choose from. The only thing sunnier than the sunny side up eggs at breakfast was the beaming smile of the chef who was cooking them. Bacon (the good stuff we enjoy in the UK) is available on request. Dinner dishes are too many to mention but I particularly enjoyed the Salmon and the Grouper cooked to perfection. Talking of fish I loved the aquarium at the end of the restaurant. An a la carte restaurant is also available. There is a cafe that has a selection of deserts and cakes to die for and they also serve a very scrumptious looking English Afternoon Tea. It’s worth saying that hotels of this class often charge a huge premium for their food and drink but not this one. Prices compare very favourably with the bars and restaurants close by, perhaps a small percentage higher (except Onyx) in recognition of the outstanding quality and service.

The Rocks also has another bar and a Casino a few steps away if a change of scene or a flutter takes your fancy.

Most areas can be accessed step free, with the exception of the pool area which has a couple of steps to reach it. Rooms are available for guests with mobility issues and you should check direct with the hotel or your tour operator to ensure that your particular needs can be met.

Should you want top quality accommodation to explore Kyrenia and the surrounding areas, then I highly recommend Rocks.
