Stayed at Riad Slawi with my two daughters and daughter in law for 4 nights in August. So much nicer staying in an authentic Riad rather than a faceless hotel. Adam, who manages this Riad for his father, is super helpful and friendly and best of all, is Canadian but speaks Arabic and French.
Breakfast is included in the price and was freshly squeezed orange juice and traditional Moroccan pancakes cooked by his chef.
You can have lunch or dinner at the Riad and we enjoyed a lovely three course meal (chicken tagine with a starter of lovely fresh salads). For 20€ it was excellent value.
There are only 4 rooms at the Riad and there is a lovely terrace at the top where you can enjoy a bit of sun or shade away from the madness of the medina. The medina by the way is about a 15 minute walk away but Adam will give you a map so you don’t get lost (and his telephone number!).
Book a taxi from the airport through Adam as you will have difficulty finding it on your own.
Also, consider booking directly with Riad Slawi rather than through an agency like bookings.com as the agencies charge the hotels/b&bs a fee and this Riad is such good value for money it would be preferable for any extra to go straight to the Riad.
