Reasons for trip

I moved to Guildford in Surrey from London with my grown up daughter last year. Having always lived in London throughout my adult life it was time to move on and my daughter agreed. We settled in Guildford and started exploring the beautiful countryside virtually on our doorstep. We visited St Martha's Hill, Newlands Corner, Silent Pool, Box Hill and the beautiful village of Shere just to name a few attractions. We did some Christmas shopping at RHS Wisley gift shop and in the spring visited the Farmers Market Fair there and purchased wonderful free range products from producers around the country. In the early spring RHS Wisley Garden presented exhibition of butterflies which were flying around the greenhouse or suprising us in unexpected places. We nearly walked out with one butterfly on my daughters coat. Due to heavy rainfall there are not so many butterflies around this summer but the RHS Gardens of Wisley have been enjoying the benefits of the showers of Summer 2012. Well worth a visit.
