RHS Rosemoor is well worth finding in North Devon, tucked away near Great Torrington in a beautiful part of the county. Plenty of interest all year round, with a winter garden, tulip displays, rhododendrons and bluebells in the woodlands, and roses and herbaceous borders all summer and autumn colours. A magical area around the stream which flows down to the lake, and a walled garden with vegetables.
We booked a mobility scooter, and there are plenty of wheelchairs available too and you can go around most of the garden without any problem in a wheelchair – even all around the arboretum on a good level path.
The lunch was excellent, using local produce where possible and there is a library to browse in for members, and sometimes talks and events.
As an Royal Horticultural Society member you can even stay in Rosemoor in one of the self catering houses.
Well worth a visit any day though better when fine.
