Reasons for trip

Considering I live in Greater Manchester I had not visited the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show I had never visited until this year, the 27th year of running

I am semi retired now so have time to enjoy life – I decided that this year was the year for me. I travelled by public transport and this was helped by courtesy busses to and from Knotsford and Altrincham. These too me straight to the entrance to the show. My visit was complimented by a lovely sunny day, not something that happens often in Manchester.
There was plenty to see, not just the widely televised show gardens but also other displays by nurseries and companies alike. What struck me the most was the smple amount of space, adequate areas for rest and refreshments, shade and toilets without queues. I took my own lunch and was able to find a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy..

The flowers were amazing and I loved seeing the fruita nd vegetable tent, displaying the winners of all the classes. Some magnificent products on display, all grown with loving care.

For a genteel day out I would thoroughly recommend it.
