Reasons for trip

This is a cafe on the ground floor of the Museum London in downtown London, Ontario. I have stopped in before for coffee but went for lunch last week with my sister after visiting “Eldon House”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/attraction/169725-review-eldon-house see other review which is down the street in the next block.

There is a limited variety of soups, salads and sandwiches/paninis and they change regularly. Baking is done on site and the smell of freshly baked ginger biscuits is what drew me in on my first visit. My sister is on a low carb diet and they had options to suit her needs, mostly gluten free. I had the regular frittata made with potatoes and she had the alternative made with onions which was spicier than she would have liked. Both were full of asparagus. We were even able to get two versions of the lemon square so we could both satisfy our sweet teeth. My sister tried a local beer and I had a latte. The gentleman who serves up the drinks and food orders is English and very entertaining.

As the venue is on the ground floor the views through the floor to ceiling windows are of the parking lot and garden in front, including the huge Rhino on the corner – hence the name.

It is closed on Mondays.
