Relaxation

My wife and I visited the Hotel Rezi in Parga, Greece on a last minute holiday in October 2016.

We found the hotel immaculate, the rooms clean and well maintained and the staff very friendly and welcoming. This hotel is set in a quiet part of Parga and is very well run by helpful staff; housekeeping is undertaken daily and is of an excellent standard.

Our room was on the upper floor (1st floor) of the rear building with a garden and sea view. It was of a decent size with a comfortable bed. The shower in the bathroom was a little snug for a 6’1” adult, but was adequate for our needs.
The room had a satellite TV with English language channels, a refrigerator, and a key safe which could be rented for 1 euro/day. The air conditioning was free (we came to understand from other guests at different hotels that it was normal to charge for this service).

The buffet style breakfast was of a high standard with fresh fruit everyday, greek yogurt, honey, jams, a selection of breads, eggs (boiled or scrambled), bacon, small sausages, beans. A toaster was also available for guests to use.
Breakfast was served between 7 &10 am, and no matter what time we eat there was always plenty for everyone.

Whilst the Rezi did not have a recognised evening restaurant, it did do bar meals. We did not make use of this service as there were so many restaurants located in the immediate area. We ate at a different restaurant every evening of our stay, and were never left disappointed.

I looked forward to a refreshing swim in the unheated pool after each hot days excursion. There were always plenty of comfortable sunbeds dotted around the pool, which was surrounded by exotic plants.
Hotel towels were not allowed in the pool area, and towels placed on sunbeds to reserve places were removed to the reception area. (Why can’t all hotels around the world adopt this policy).

A two minute walk from the hotel brings you to the breathtaking town beach with sun chairs and bars. A few minutes more and you are in the centre of Parga with its abundance of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy the beautiful bay.

The Venetian Castle above the town is well worth a visit for its bay views from its cafe bar terrace.

As keen walkers, my wife and I walked over to Valtos beach on a number of occasions during our stay (sea taxis are available from Parga pier for 2 euros per person, which negates the need for this energetic walk). Valtos beach is set in a beautiful bay and the Valtos restaurant have comfortable sun beds that can be rented daily for 5 euro/bed. (others on the beach are not as luxurious but cost the same price). Each sun umbrella has a Box &Ki container where valuables can be locked away while you swim.

Weekly there is a boat that goes from Parga pier to Corfu town (43 euros each). This is a 2.5 hour journey, each way, and gives you the opportunity to find bargains in the tightly packed shops in the narrow lanes of Corfu town.

The olive oil museum and tasting session in Parga Town is well worth a visit, but have to admit that a tasting trip to a vinyard would have been more enjoyable.

I have no problem in recommending the Rezi for a holiday in beautiful Parga, Epirus, Greece and look forward to our next visit.
