For those who watched and loved the black crime/ comedy movie ‘In Bruges’ this is the only place they should stay in Bruges, Belgium.
Situated in a unique location- where 2 canals cross, with Bruges Market Square only 200 yards away, in the most photographed place in Bruges, the hotel has a special vibe and charm. Me and my husband stayed in THE room that Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson reluctantly shared (it is room #10, on the first floor, by the way). Lady who showed us to the room proudly explained that in this corridor they filmed the famous shooting scene and Colin Farrell jumped to a passing boat out of this exact window.
We loved the movie so much we chose to stay at this hotel. But we couldn’t predict that we will be allocated that exact room!
Everything about this hotel is special: the large bed, the furniture (there was no gun in the draw in case you were wondering), the marble bathroom, the views from the window. It oozes the old fashioned charm and history.
The breakfast room is amazing, with views over the canal and a great choice of food (including made to order waffles, and even chocolates).
There are no tea/ coffee facilities in the room but the hotel will happily bring these to you in your room free of charge. All you have to do is ask.
The receptionists are the friendliest I have ever met. They will happily answer your questions and tell you more about the hotel and Bruges.
This movie made the hotel even more popular than before , but really it`s not just for those who love visiting film locations. It is for those who want to experience the real Bruges. You could be anywhere in the world inside a new, modern hotel , but this hotel screams ‘old Bruges’ with added luxury bits and pieces.
