A few times throughout the summer, the Regina Farmer’s Market hosts Market Under the Stars. For $20 you receive six tickets to spend at various vendors to sample their wares. For example, instead of a full size burger at Bon food truck, you receive a slider which is a smaller portion. Most items cost one ticket, thought the slider at Bon costs two. The food is international from tacos to burgers to curry to perogies to pulled pork. There is also an array of ice cream, ices, cakes and cookies. And let’s not forget drinks, from smoothies, to tea and coffee, to wine and hard liquor all made in Saskatchewan.
I have been twice this summer and enjoyed delicious meals and all for $20. There is live entertainment to boot.
I have tried the very tasty Greek slider from Bon Burger and their Greek fries, maple sausage from Baba’s Food Spot, a smoothy made with sheep’s milk yogurt from Craibstone Cheese, curried chicken in a steamed bun from Cheang’s Sinofood, Black Currant wine from Living Skies Winery, and a chocolate cupcake from Auntie Meme’s Cakes to name a few.
The market under the stars is on from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. If you go for 6:00 pm you can park for free in the SaskPower parking lot behind the building at the corner of Scarth St and Victoria St. kitty corner from Victoria Park. Also, metered parking on the street is free after 6:00 pm.
