You can’t miss this hotel, it is the tallest building in Sibiu with 12 floors standing proud above all the other buildings in the town. It is also well situated as it is just a short walk from the attractions of the old town.
It is a typical international style hotel which could be anywhere in the world. It is modern and bland, lacking impact apart from the glass lift which runs up the outside of the building and gives wonderful views across roofs of the old town. However if the hotel was busy, it could ba a long wit for the lift.
That also applied to the room which was a bit characterless. I was on the tenth floor overlooking the outskirts of Sibiu. I had two standard size double beds with a work area with wide screen Tv above and a rather uncomfortable modern style ‘easy’ chair by the window. There was a mini bar but no free water. At least there was a kettle with tea making facilities.
The bathroom had an over the bath shower and a basic selection of toiletries. It was let down by the towels which were thin with no ‘tread’ to them and got wet. At least there was a bath robe in the wardrobe.
Breakfast was average. There was a reasonable range of cereals and some fresh fruit. The fruit juice tasted more like squash than fresh juice. The serve yourself breakfast was luke war and included very thin bacon, very garlicky sausage, fried potato wedges, fried peppers and squash and a choice of fried or scrambled eggs. There was the usual selection of cheese and cold meats. Sliced bread was provided for toast along with rolls and a selection of preserves.
This is more premier inn/travelodge than international hotel and the price reflects this. There is nothing wrong with the hotel. It is very clean and an excellent location. It just lacks sparkle.
