Reasons for trip

This lovely garden restaurant is situated inside Raglan Garden Centre which is now part of the Wyevale Garden Centre Company.

It is in easy reach from the motorway and the A 40 which is very convenient since Monmouth Services is still closed nearby.

You can stop for lunch or during your family outing or on your way home from work for a lovely meal or tea & cakes. Dining outside is also available on the patio surrounded by the lovely view of the mountains nearby.

The opening hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except on Sundays when it is 10:00 a.m. opening time.

Two main meals costs only £12.00 when bought together.

You are able to book a table in advance for special holidays like Christmas & Easter. March 14th to 28th A Breakfast With The Easter Bunny Special Event is hosted.

The food includes traditional British dishes all home-made on site each day by their chefs. There is also a soup & salad lunch bar and a cafe included on one side with a separate bar for main meals to avoid long waiting times.

Fish & chips is always on the menu as far as I can tell. Battered cod & chips, soup of the day are always home made and fresh every day and has proven to be one of my favourites with fresh bread served on the side.

The British cuisine menu is sourced locally and fresh every day. The staff are friendly and very helpful both in the restaurant and the garden centre. I met the manager of the Garden Centre/Restaurant who told me she is very happy in her new job and loves coming to work daily.

There is seating for about 80 inside which with patio doors to seating outside for 40-50 people. The main dining room is light and airy with sky light windows overhead.

At the front of the entrance to the restaurant there is a lovely fish pond stocked with Koi fish and a fountain which the young children love to see, especially the crocodile lurking in the midst of it.

This is a great place to bring your relatives on a special day. I enjoy the atmosphere and it is also an added bonus to be able to shop in the extensive garden, home wares and gift shop.
