Staff friendly and most helpful. Food fantastic. Beautiful garden with giant pet tortoise. Set on the beautiful island of Maderia. If you do the toboggan ride back from the botanical gardens, beware! They only take you half way down and we got ripped off by a crooked taxi driver who charged us 30 Euros saying it was a flat fee to get back to hotel. Actually the law requires them to use the meter and it should only cost 8 Euros. That said all the other locals we came across were polite, friendly and honest. Dinner at the Fort restaurant is a must! Maderia has quite a few steep hills so it helps to be fit.
