In view of the recent news reports of clowns scaring people witless in UK towns (sadly I’m not joking!) I thought I’d post a photo taken 2 weeks ago on our trip to Canada of this lady clown doing a great job in Quebec City.
It was a lovely place to visit especially if you stay in the old part, la Cite. Very French, great food, so atmospheric. The Tourist Office offers organised bus and walking tours – we chose to do the latter and our local guide was informative, amusing and led us to places we wouldn’t have found on our own, like the trompe l’oeil frescoes on gable ends of several houses.
The weather was sunny and warm in September but we were warned of very cold winters with deep snow
Historically Quebec City was strategic, being well sited on the St Lawrence river, and a walk around the old walls was well worth it, even for the not so fit like us. (An excuse to walk off the patisserie, right?)
