Reasons for trip

Flew out to the Maldives with Qatar Airways from Manchester Airport new Terminal 2.

Whilst check-in and boarding was slow due to additional paperwork checks, we were really impressed with the quality of both economy and in particular business class.

Everyone including crew adhered to wearing masks, in addition everyone received a protective kit containing a face mask, gloves and hand sanitiser gel to use onboard.

The entertainment system was good, and whilst the food in economy was more than tasty, on our return we travelled business class and it was superb.

On our flight Male to Doha we had the pleasure of the Qsuite, you have your very own private enclosed seating area which feels like a small bedroom. On Doha to Manchester the business class seating was the more traditional layout but incredibly comfortable. As our overnight flight was over 7 hours we received complimentary PJ’s by The White Company, and a lovely vanity case with moisturiser, lip balm, socks, eye mask and facial spray. The whole family slept for a good 5 hours!

As an aside, we really liked Doha airport as a transit airport. Having transited via Dubai previously we felt Doha was much more compact yet the shopping was as good if not better than Dubai.
