We arrived in our flat in Q1 Apartments in the late morning. It was very hot and humid and so we were tired and all ready to be fractious! We opened the door to our apartment and WOW!! The whole of Surfer's Paradise was spread out far below our feet! The full length of the beach and on beyond – as far as New South Wales; the skyscrapers of Surfer's and, behind them, the intricate waterways that make up the river's delta. It was our luck to be given a flat high up in the tallest building in 'Surfer's'. We were amazed by the size and luxury of the apartment too! We had asked for a 2 bedroomed apartment – what we got was a very large master room with en suite and walk in wardrobe with a safety deposit, two more double rooms, two more bathrooms and a laundry. Also a huge, covered veranda running the whole length of the apartment. The living room and open plan kitchen were huge and contained two wide screen TVs – with a third in the master bedroom. Every room was air-conditioned and cool and every room had 'THE VIEW!'
Later in the day, after swimming in a couple of the complex's pools and the Pacific Ocean, we migrated up to the restaurant on the 77th floor in an elevator which left our stomachs FAR below…. The restaurant was a fabulous place with a wrap around view and panels detailing the history of 'Surfer's'. We ate pepper squid (mmm!) while drinking a couple of bottles of Aussie Sauvignon Blanc. The verdict? – To die for!
Our stay in Q1 Apartments was a treat indeed!
