Relaxation

The weather was 27 degrees and sunny all week. Lucky also that we were in a cool apartment on the top floor. It was a climb up several flights of stairs though. Not perfect if you are arthritic. But once in there you could kick back and relax and watch a good tv with a cool glass of drink from the fridge. The bathroom was adequate and spacious as were the bedrooms. No nasty shocks only the lovely surprisingly spacious outdoor terrace with good views. Downstairs the pool area was better still with the restaurant open all hours with friendly staff. I was hot when i arrived so she adjusted the canopy so i cud eat in the shade. Someone came to chat as a special offer meant 7 weeks accomodation for 1700 euros was worth taking. But we politely declined. He was pleasant and helpful telling us about the buses. Unfortunately we were hell bent on a long trip to Seville. Which was exhausting. But the rest of the holiday was relaxing.we had good meals out at local tapas bars and an italian restarant near the sea as well as a wonderful barbecue at pueblo evita. The paella making experience was interesting but a little too strong for me. I enjoyed walking around Benalmadena sea front and the marina. Also catching a local bus to Mijas up in the hills. So many artisan shops there and wonderful views from japanese gardens. The donkeys and horses worked hard though transporting lazy folk around. Paloma park was ten minutes away from Pueblo Evita. It was fabulous to see parrots nesting, spring flowers out, and cactuses thriving amongst the greenery as well as sculptures and a large pond and water features. Also good to see many spanish families there. The burger bar was friendly and tasty too. I wont mention much about the 12 hr bus trip to Seville.Am sure under different circumstances i could have enjoyed it.. a word of warning they dont speak English there. Benalmadena is far friendlier. But you need 2 weeks not one. It flew by.
