Just back from a lovely holiday in Calella, not somewhere that comes to mind when looking for a good experience as always assumed the Costa Brava was more for the party set. However as we were taking daughter & husband with us we bit the bullet and done our research.
What can I say, this hotel is classed as 3 star as most in Calella are but deserves so much more. The rooms are probably what may give it a low rating but they have everything you need, all have a good size balcony with either a sea view or pool view. The bathroom I believe had been upgraded and was lovely, with a good size shower, toilet, & bidet. Bedroom was a good size with a nice comfy bed.
Where this hotel excels is in the restaurant, we were half board and we could not fault the food, it would be hard to find a buffet elsewhere to compare as there was something to suit everyone. Also the drink prices are way below what one would expect, it was difficult to actually leave the hotel to drink elsewhere.
Entertainment was mixed, you could say there was something to suit most tastes, from Flamenco singers, magic shows to a brilliant Argentinian Gaucho show which is not to be missed. This show kept everyone enthralled, pretty amazing we all loved it.
The poolside was lovely, with three pools in lovely well kept gardens open from 9.00am to 9.00pm and kept spotless, also no chair hoggers here. Can I also say this hotel is spotless kept so by the wonderful staff.
I had a look round some other 3 star hotels in the area and also one 4 star, not one came up to the standards of the President well done to all, would not hesitate to return.
