Our first visit to this typical Premier Inn earlier this year was not the greatest of experiences mainly due to noise from the room above late at night and early morning (5.30am). As I said in my previous review, we were not the only guests to complain. What I hadn't foreseen at the time of writing the review , was that, once home, we were called by Premier Inn and given a refund – apparently their slogan is "A great nights sleep guaranteed" – this was not something we had sought when complaining nor was it something we had expected. For this alone, I give full marks to the Premier Inn Company for Customer Service, however, to be honest we would have preferred the sleep to the refund but it did give us the opportunity to re visit and review again. I decided to give it the Channel 4's "Four in a bed" treatment: How were your Hosts at Premier Inn Lodmoor: The person on reception greeted me politely, asked for my nationality for the registration and told me my room number and what direction to go. Just the basics in fact. On our last visit we had been offered the choice of booking a table in the adjoining restaurant for dinner and, automatically gave me my pass for the Pay and Display Car park. So, I mark this as average. How were the facilities? This time, the 2 vending machines in reception were both working, offering a range of soft drinks, snacks and toilet essentials. The room itself was warm when we arrived but as the evening arrived got increasingly colder, we had the thermostat set on the highest setting but it did not warm up again. One of 2 ceiling lights was not working and the wi fi was not working in our area of the hotel, downstairs it was ok. There are no phones in the room so to complain we would have had to use our mobiles to ring the number given in the room, at 10p a minute or take the walk to reception. We were told at reception that the wi fi issue would be reported but would not be repaired until the following day. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room but only enough for 1 drink per person, more sachets were supplied on request from a big container by reception. Bed was comfortable and a large wall mounted TV with all the freeview channels (because of the figuration of the rooms this was opposite the right hand side of the bed in most rooms). How was the cleanliness? Our room was spotless as was the bathroom, although there were small areas of damage in the bathroom. How was Breakfast? Breakfast was available in the Brewers Fayre next door but we didn't try this. All in all we had a good stay this time and it will now be our budget hotel choice whenever we visit this area,as it's closeness to Weymouth seafront is a big bonus.
