Before Christmas Premier Inn were doing a special shopping Sunday offer at some of their hotels. We decided to book their hotel at Angel Street, Sheffield for the Sunday and Monday nights. We are great fans of Premier Inn as they offer such good facilities for very reasonable prices. As always we had a large room which was warm and cosy. The bed was big and comfortable and there were all the other things you come to expect with Premier Inn, tea and coffee making facilities, hand soap and shower gel in the bathroom, a hairdryer etc. The room was very clean and bright, the hotel was modern and seemed quite new. All the staff were friendly and helpful, but the two ladies running the breakfast in the restaurant were exceptionally so. They ran the restaurant so well, moving dirty dishes as soon as they were finished with, giving help when required. They were completely on the ball the whole time. The breakfast included a variety of cereals, fruit, and other hot and cold food. As always it was lovely and filling. We also ate in the restaurant on one of the nights, there was a good choice of food and it was nice although maybe rather expensive. We only really had one full day to see the city so we took the tram to Meadowhall which was very fast, clean and inexpensive. Having done a bit of shopping we then got the tram back to the city centre and had a look round. The area around the Peace Garden and the Winter Gardens is really lovely and well worth a visit.
