We booked this particular hotel as we were going to see Mrs Brown's Boys at the MEN arena and it is literally only a few minutes walk away. However, it is also right in the heart of Manchester and within minutes you can walk to the main shopping centre, the cathedral, the football museum or the town hall. We are big fans of Premier Inns as they offer great value for money. We certainly were'nt disappointed. Our room was on the 4th floor, but there are three lifts so that wasnt a problem. As soon as we opened the door to the room we were struck by how light and airy the room was. It was very big too, with all the usual things you would expect, a hairdryer, coffee and tea making facilities, soap and shower gel in the bathroom and a huge comfy bed. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and you got the impression that they were happy in their jobs. We have found this to be the case in all Premier Inns we have stayed in. We ate in the restaurant before the show, the menu was quite varied and our food was tasty and filling. The following morning we had breakfast at the hotel, which cost £8.25 each and was worth every penny. I had porridge which was made to order, followed by bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, sausage, mushrooms, then toast and jam. There was a vast choice of cereals, fruits, juices as well as hot foods. The only downside was that after the show people headed for the hotel bar which wasnt really big enough to cater for such large numbers. It is a big hotel and would benefit from extending the bar accordingly. On the plus side there is a large, secure, free carpark which is unusual in city centre hotels. We had a great time and we are just about to book again for when we go to another show in July.
