I chose this hotel because of where it is, previous stays and the restaurant next door.
Our stays consisted of 2 nights – 1 each pre & post cruise. Being on the northern edge of Broughty Ferry, it would allow us to watch our cruise ship arrive and depart.
It may not look the most attractive site, sandwiched between a major road and a small shopping area with a few fast food outlets. Take a closer look and you can see there are also a residential home and a nursery- catering for the oldest and youngest in our society.
The hotel was very easy to access from a roundabout on the main road. Broughty Ferry with its vibrant shops and cafes is within easy driving distance. Going down to the river-side, you can find Broughty Castle, the beach and gardens.
The receptionists in this budget hotel are very helpful. They were all friendly and professional, flexible in their customer service and a great asset to the company.
Our ensuite bedroom (the same on both visits) was typical Premier Inn and looked as if it had been refurbished recently. Comfortable beds, lots of hot water in the bath/shower, hospitality tray. This room faced the back of the hotel, the side of the main road, not that we noticed any noise.
There were some workmen staying, other guests were families with young children. All seemed to be eating in the ‘Bell Tree’ restaurant next door. The menu was varied with an additional specials selection. Whether quiet or busy (we experienced both), the staff were smiling and professional, happy to advise on the choice of meal. Food was well cooked and a good quantity. I’m glad we booked for dinner on the Saturday night when the restaurant was very busy.
We booked this Premier Inn with room & breakfast. The usual ‘Meal Deal’ to include dinner wasn’t available because the hotel and restaurant are separate businesses.
Definitely our choice of accommodation for future cruises leaving from Dundee.
