Reasons for trip

Stayed here for its location near the cruise terminal as we needed to be there for 9:30am. Premier Inns are getting pretty consistent now, so the Room was similar to those you'd find in most locations. Very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean & most of the essentials you need but none of the luxuries. We booked the room with the meal deal, so for the price, a bed near to where we needed to be, was very reasonable. Not a £29 much advertised room though, so not 5* for value. The main niggle with the room was the road noise. Right by the ferry port, large trucks were hammering past for most of the afternoon, evening & again about 4am onwards. I slept right through, but my wife had to revert to ear plugs at 4am. The meal deal was outstanding value, 3 courses of a good standard & a glass of wine, plus breakfast (full english) for £22 a head. The attached restaurant where they serve the food gets 9/10 but could have been more attentive when waiting to be seated. The service was quite slow but as we weren't in any hurry it wasn't really an issue. Don't come to dinner or breakfast on a tight schedule though. At this price for a good quality meal they were very busy, so book your time for dinner in advance. So unless you're a very light sleeper I'd recommend this if you want to be a stones throw away from the ferry or cruise terminal. Having said that, there is a Premier Inn just outside town & I'll try that one next time & see if its a bit quieter.
