This is a stunning Italianate village in North Wales close to the town of Porthmadog. There are 2 hotels, hotel rooms in the village itself plus 17 self catering cottages. We have stayed in the cottages three times now, staying in a different cottage each time. They are comfortable and well-equipped, quirky and like nowhere else! Beautiful views and stunning sunsets, especially after the village closes to day visitors and the place becomes yours! There are several shops, including Number 6, celebrating The Prisoner which was filmed here in 1967 (and is shown daily on the in house satellite channel). Also, a spa, restaurants and ice cream parlour and posh restaurants at both hotels. Walks abound up into the wooded areas with surprises around every corner. Would live here if I could and everyone should come here at least once. Beautiful, quirky, original. Well worth a peaceful and restful break.
