I visited this display of vivid red poppies with my elderly mother. It is a sight of beautiful simplicity, yet incredibly moving. Each ceramic poppy, there are over 800,000, represents a military life lost in war. The display is really very pretty with poppies cascading from a tower window and then filling the green grassed moat. However seeing all those poppies does make one reflect on so many who died fighting for the freedoms we take so easily for granted nowadays. There is no cost involved to see the poppies as they are displayed outside the tower. The Tower of London was a gentle 15-20walk from London Bridge station.
