I visited this National Trust house and gardens for the first time last tuesday. The area is well landscaped, the trees looked a glorious and lush green. I walked around the walled garden area first, where I particularly liked the colour of a beautiful rose called China Town. Although the garden area is small it was well kept and pretty. The large flower displays at the side of the house were very colourful. Our group had a guided tour and learnt a great deal about the house, the owner and the people who visited. Every room we entered had well preserved photographs which made the visit really meaningful. From the outside the house (mansion) does not look that ornate, but there are many surprises inside! Later the house was opened so that photographs could be taken. (no flash allowed) All the staff / volunteers were both helpful and knowledgeable.
There are further areas for walking within the grounds , though our trip was not long enough to explore more fully. I definitely will pencil in another visit!
