Reasons for trip

This area has always been an area of outstanding beauty to East Ridingers. Is it to be spoilt by the development of new housing or will this new development bring a new dimension to the area?

Those of us with silver hairs remember well the old families who lived and worked in this area and the kindnesses offered by the local folk whose very presence contributed to the ambience of the area. Pocklington Church along with the Feathers’ Hotel has provided a backdrop of regularity along with the well known shops and street names like Eric Lee and Chapmangate. Let us all remember fondly what has been and store away this wonderful memory of what was great and part of what made Yorkshire part of God’s Own Country.

Always a joy to recall times in this area.
