The cottage is a mid terrace two bed roomed property located in the village of Briston North Norfolk. (The middle of nowhere!)We are here for a four night break to celebrate our Anniversary. This cottage is recently refurbished and new to the 2019 market. There is room for one car on small driveway and please reverse in as you will get wiped out reversing out. This may be a country road but it is populated with vans and lorries. The guest book hopes we enjoy our welcome gift. Despite an extensive search I found no trace, unless it was three minuscule containers with a few teabags. Not a lot of use as the minuscule fridge was devoid of milk. The wood stove had not been cleaned out prior to our arrival and a basket of logs is provided for free. There are electric heaters in every room which you can control for your comfort. There is a twin bedroom with fresh linen. The bedside light failed to function as did the ceiling light. The bathroom has a shower over bath. We are walkers so enjoy a hot bath. A small water tank provides just about enough for one bath but hubby jumping in second found that most of it had leaked out. It was not possible to relax in and read as is my habit. The back of the bath protrudes outwards making it painful. Day 3 we reverted to the shower which was fine. The toilet seat is a soft close,Unfortunately it closes as soon as you raise it so we found it quite useless and risky. The kitchen looks out onto farmers field and a notice displayed forbids you opening the rear door except in an emergency. This is a property that welcomes dogs. Well you can’t let them out the back. I certainly would not let them out the front except on a short lead. There is a patio table out the front where you park your car so who wants to sit looking out onto a main road. I am a cook and bring my own food and wine and this fridge would not have sufficed for a weeks holiday or over the festive season. The walk to the wonderful award winning del is three miles round trip and there is a coop as well.
We have been looking for a cottage to return to. Sadly this is not it. You will certainly be warm and cosy and there isa decent size TV. No books/games etc that you expect to find. There is room for them if they get rid of the tat. We booked via Travel Counsellors who used Hoseasons.
