We have enjoyed stays at Pestana Carlton Madeira for many years. The rooms are superb and the attention to guests is personalised. Our love of swimming makes this place ideal for us. The hotel has an upper pool deck, with small restaurant overlooking the sea. An indoor pool is available in winter with a large jacuzzi. The lower pool is at sea level and is salt water. Access to the sea is from a jetty. The water is so clear that we can see the many varieties of coloured fish, and swim and snorkel with them. The hotel has an onsite dive school and offers trips swimming with dolphins and scuba diving courses. Exploring the beautiful island is a must. It is called the floating garden because of its wonderful flowers.The hotel offers guided tours of many kinds.
