It is great to visit Pensthorpe in the winter – so many birds and it is often not too busy when you go around with geese, some from Canada which are white, and lots of ducks. There are red squirrels in an enclosure which are fun to watch hidding their nuts. The lakes are easy to go around with a wheelchair.
There are flamingoes and the famous grey crowned cranes which have been on BBC Springwatch / Autumnwatch and lots of hides to look out over the various lakes. You could easily spend most of the day there wandering around, going back for lunch, and visiting the aviary by the shop.
I am sure the gardens are lovely in the summer time as well.
