Let me start by saying that this is not a cheap restaurant but, it’s true, you get what you pay for.
Patricks is situated on the Mumbles Road and is literally just across the road from Swansea Bay. It is, despite its location, very pleasantly peaceful inside. The decor is warm and welcoming and extremely comfortable with a large lounge leading through to the dining room.
Book in advance for lunch, afternoon tea or an evening meal (see their website below) and you will find seasonal, locally sourced produce on the menu each day, plus daily specials.
The food is so well presented it almost seems a shame to dive in and eat it but you’ll be so glad you did. There really is something on the menu for everyone and, as a party of four, we ordered different meals and all were delicious.
The wine menu is limited but perfectly adequate and there are some very good choices of lagers and beers, including an outstanding Welsh beer which we can vouch for!
The staff are charming, quietly humourous and nothing is too much trouble.
The bill for drinks, meals and wine came to a little over £200 for four people (excluding a tip) but, for a special occasion, Patricks is very hard to beat.
And if you don’t feel like driving home at the end of your evening you can book a room. I haven’t personally tried the rooms but I’m told they are gorgeous.
