Reasons for trip

One of the brochures we picked up at the tourist office in Looe was “Par Market and Food Hall”:https://www.parmarket.co.uk near St. Austell. As we were going to the Eden Project we decided to stop in at the market on the way. It was billed as the largest indoor market in the southwest with over 120 vendors. There is everything from daily living supplies to clothes to collectibles to books to second hand items.

At Sweet Land I found some mini jelly babies that are difficult to find. In a kitchen shop I found a great butter knife – we bought a few between us – and some mugs made it into the boot of the car. I also rounded out a book collection in one of the book stalls.
All in all it was a worthwhile trip for us.

The market is open Weekends and Wednesdays from 9 am to 5 pm. There is also a diner, a café, a children’s play area on a big scale and a food hall which is open Wednesday to Sunday. The website is under construction but does have some information.
