We stayed at the Panoramic Hotel which is located in a great, quiet, position at the top of the town where the rivers Parana and Iguazu meet which define the borders of three countries. The views from the hotel are spectacular and I must say it was an interesting experience to be in Argentina and to be overlooking, and so close to, Brazil and Paraguay.

The hotel itself was pretty bog-standard but very comfortable. The best part of the hotel was the swimming pool and outside terraces overlooking the stunning view. It was extremely pleasant lounging around the pool with a G&T after a day’s trek around the Falls and having an early morning swim before breakfast. The service was friendly and efficient and the buffet breakfast was pretty good.

The location of the hotel is good. Within a few minutes you are in a very authentic market area of the town where you can mix with locals sampling cheese and wine and buy other local goods. As there is such a huge choice of excellent restaurants in the town I wouldn’t recommend dining at the hotel.

So, all in all, a good base for visiting the Iguazu Falls and the national park.
