Reasons for trip

Relaxation

We stayed in this hotel for a week to wind down after our daughter's wedding and we were not disappointed. We have been to the beautiful Kefalonia twice before but stayed in Lassi which we loved, so were a bit wary about going somewhere different. However, we are so glad we made the change!

Skala is a lovely resort, with a large beach, plenty of tavernas and shops and a relaxed atmosphere. Panorama Hotel is very near the front and about 50 yards from the beach. The hotel is one of Thomson's 'Small & Friendly' range, with only 8 rooms. Our room was a decent size and very clean, the only down side was the humming noise from the generator of the shop below. However, we got used to it.

The food at the hotel was OK. The breakfasts were basic, just some toast and jam with tea or coffee, so we would have that and then use it as an excuse to have 'second breakfast' somewhere else later on!

The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel as a good base from which to explore the delights of Skala and Kefalonia.
